TRUE ID
TRUE ID INITIATIVE
TRUE ID
TRUE ID Presented by GOWLING WLG
In partnership with the CCGSD, Gowling WLG offices across Canada want to make the gender marker and name change processes easier for transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people.
The True ID initiative provides pro bono notary and commissioning services to clients who want to update their birth certificates, passports, driver’s licenses, and other formal documents to reflect their true name and gender.
To learn more about True ID, visit Gowling WLG’s website.
We worked with Gowling WLG to put together a comprehensive Gender Marker Guide which includes relevant designation forms by province and territory. You can also see some of those resources listed below.
Questions about the True ID program? email true.id@gowlingwlg.ca.
The True ID Initiative is currently offered in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.
** NOTE: Gowling WLG will not be providing any comprehensive legal advice or services as part of this initiative. If you require legal advice or services, please contact a lawyer in your jurisdiction.
