jeremy Dias scholarship

The Jeremy Dias Scholarship seeks to recognize a youth who has taken initiative in addressing discrimination towards 2SLGBTQIA+ folks in their school or community.

 Applicants must be living in Canada; and must be a high school or Cegep student entering accredited post-secondary institutions, or students currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution.

The ideal winner(s) of this scholarship will be student(s) who have worked to eliminate discrimination towards 2SLGBTQIA+ folks within their school or community, as demonstrated by their application essay and references.

 Applications (and required documents) must be submitted by email to the Canadian Centre for Gender & Sexual Diversity by Sunday, December 31st, 2023 by 11:59pm EST.

 Winner(s) will be selected and contacted by March 2024.

Applications must include:

  1. A cover letter with: full name, mailing address, email, phone number, high school name, and graduation date
  2. Two reference letters (cannot be from a personal relation)
  3. A current resume
  4. An essay of 250-500 words describing efforts to eliminate discrimination in their community. It is recommended that you use point form to make it easier to review. You are also encouraged to share additional documentation showcasing your accomplishments, such as website, blog, or news articles. Consider adding a few introductory sentences to provide context (i.e., who was involved/participated, what took place, where it happened, when it happened, and what the impact of your work was).

Note: Applicants can submit their materials in French or English.
