Queering Black History

It is important to remember that a person’s experiences of heterosexism and/or cissexism do not exist in a vacuum, and instead intersect with other systems of oppression such as racism.  The CCGSD recognizes that queer and trans people of colour (QTBIPOC) have been erased from much of LGBTQ2+ history and continue to be marginalized within the LGBTQ2+ community as well as in greater society.

Use these (Queering) Black History resources to recognize the important contributions of queer black people in our community and challenge the white-washing of our story.
