We are hiring a project manager for our 2SLGBTQIA+ Museum.
The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD) intersectionally promotes diversity in gender identity, gender expression, and romantic and/or sexual orientation in all its forms on a national level through services in the areas of education, health, and advocacy. Reporting to the (Acting) Executive Director, the 2SLGBTQIA+ Museum Project Manager will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity’s (CCGSD) 2SLGBTQIA+ Museum development project. This role is responsible for establishing and executing major goals and objectives for the project, alongside the Acting Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
Duration: 1-year contract with possibility of extension (based on one-year project review and achievement of fundraising goals).
Terms of employment: FT (37.5 hours/week)

Location: Home-based office in Ottawa or Toronto
$55,000 – $60,000 / year
Annual RRSP Contribution of $1500.
Define and lead a targeted and efficient 3-year fundraising plan and ensure that this plan is implemented and assessed on a regular basis to achieve fundraising objectives
Pro-actively engage with the established Museum Fundraising Committee to identify and approach prospective donors for major gifts, bequests and annual giving initiatives.
Work with the Board Fundraising committee to focus on corporate philanthropy, sponsorships and individual giving.
Work with the Federal and Provincial public service to secure public funding for the 2SLGBTQIA+ Museum Project.
Planning and Community Engagement
Oversee and execute community consultations with community members across the country to ensure the responsiveness of the Museum
Develop a critical path for the creation, construction and implementation of the Museum
Work with service providers to ensure that the critical path for the implementation of the Museum is respected.
Work with Saatchi & Saatchi to continue the Our History initiative
Work with the History Committee to define the content and priorities of the Museum
Communicate effectively and regularly with our partners and supporters, including law firms, financial and insurance corporations, building corporations, etc.
Work with the Board of Directors and counsel to set up an arms-length foundation for the Museum
Post-secondary education in a related field (Communications, Business Administration, Gender
Studies, etc.), Master’s preferred;
Minimum three years fundraising experience with increasing responsibility in a not-for-profit or
charity; Preference for experience in a museum, gallery or the cultural sector;
An equivalent combination of education and experience with increasing responsibility
Experience working with a volunteer Board of Directors and volunteer Committees, knowledge of
non-profit/charity/foundation governance systems;
Demonstrated ability to build new and long-term relationships with organizations, groups, prospects,
Demonstrated ability to secure federal and provincial funding for major, long term, infrastructure
Demonstrated active, intersectional allyship in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community OR personal/lived
experience in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
Progressive politics and understanding of social movements and a willingness to learn;
Flexibility to adapt to the changing nature of the political climate and the 2SLGBTQIA+ movement
Strong leadership skills, ability to manage and motivate volunteer committees to achieve desired
results, fostering an environment of collaboration and empowerment;
Self-driven, independent working style; comfortable in a fast-paced environment; at ease with
multiple concurrent priorities, adapting as required;
Integrity, work ethic and resilience. The successful candidate will be an energetic individual,
passionate about the arts and culture sector, and demonstrate the highest ethical and
Proven record of successfully soliciting and closing gifts, as well as managing giving programs;
Fluently bilingual (French and English; spoken and written)
Personal or lived experience in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
