The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity and PHE Canada are proud to present our Sports and Physical Health Inclusion Conference in collaboration with the Sports Inclusion Program. Join educators, coaches, and youth service workers from across the country on March 28th-29th, 2020 to celebrate and learn about 2SLGBTQIA+ in Sports.
RA Centre, 2451 Riverside Dr., Ottawa, ON
Over the last couple of years, the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity’s Sports Inclusion Program has been working closely with many sports organizations, facilities, and schools all across Ontario. We have been fortunate enough to build close relationships with other organizations and members who want to see the future of Sport become more inclusive and welcoming to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Our conference would like to target all professionals in the Sports world, as well as athletes, or simply allies who want to learn more. Topics covered in the conference will include the basics of LGBTQ 101, understanding the History of 2SLGBTQIA+ in Sports, Trans Policies and ongoing discussions, understanding the difference between intersex and trans, and lastly creating a safe environment in facilities, gyms, and locker rooms. The conference will cover many topics and we will have powerful discussions on the aspects of 2SLGBTQIA+ in sports. We believe this conference to be crucial, as there are still many issues for 2SLGBTQIA+ equality for sports athletes.
We are also looking for 2SLGBTQIA+ athletes who would be interested in being a speaker at the event. Speakers will be provided with an honorarium as an expression of our appreciation. If you are interested in speaking at our event, please contact Steph at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info!
