Kaitlin Geiger-Bardswich

Kaitlin (She/Her) is from Mississauga, Ontario, and has lived in Toronto, London (UK), and now Ottawa. She holds a BA(Hons) in international relations from the University of Toronto and an MSc Human Rights from the London School of Economics. A communications professional, Kaitlin currently works for Women’s Shelters Canada as their Communications and Development Manager. She joined the board at CCGSD in 2018.

Kaitlin has long been an advocate for “the other,” working and writing on such issues as women’s rights, Israel/Palestine, food security, refugees, genocide and ethnic cleansing, LGBTQ+ rights, and environmental justice. She has also been freelancing as a writer, photographer, videographer, and editor for over 5 years.

Kaitlin’s international experience includes interviewing members of the LGBTQ+ community in over 25 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and Latin America. Some of her writings were published on Daily Xtra. She is currently writing a book about those 18 months of travel and interviews. She lives in Ottawa with her wife, Katy.

This year, the Centre is looking for remote volunteers to help with outreach and promotion of our online programming.  If you are interested in volunteering, gaining valuable and marketable skills in such areas as event coordination, fundraising, public speaking, database management, networking, and social media.
