We would like to welcome Gabrielle & Shayne to the PFLAG office!
Shayne Ivany recently moved from Newfoundland where he created a non-profit organization for gender and sexuality social support and through his work was able to support two doctors in taking transgender clients in central Newfoundland. Shayne’s passion is helping others and his goals are to network within Canada to bring more education and support to the community as well as families, friends and allies. Shayne loves learning, flying kites and playing football and being a PFLAG coordinator is his ideal dream job.
Gabrielle Castilloux is a two spirit, queer Mikmaq student doing her fourth year Bachelor of Social Work at Carleton University. She loves all music and is addicted to anime; she is also active in her community as a jingle dress dancer and drummer. Gabrielle is the leader of First Peoples Council, an indigenous student group at Carleton University. Her passion is youth empowerment and working with queer and indigenous youth, she is looking forward to working with PFLAG National and its chapters.
