in the near future we will be working with the Ottawa StoryTellers to run a FABULOUS event. In anticipation for that event, check out their newest project!!
(un)told is a new Ottawa event featuring original stories told live. Candid and heartfelt, whimsical and extraordinary, (un)told features authentic stories told in an intimate setting without notes, sets, or props. (un)told will launch in February, 2014, with the advent of a monthly open mic featuring 5 minute stories drawn from the tellers’ experiences or imaginations.
Each show starts with a theme: in February, we begin with “firsts” in order to celebrate the series launch. An ensemble of tellers –anyone who has an inkling to tell a story, regardless of experience –explores the theme. The stories have never been told in this way before and may or may never be told again. It’s something akin to getting together with our most enigmatic and introspective friends to give those disparate episodes in our heads a place to connect through the spoken word. Come to tell or come to listen: think of it as one of those great evenings where everyone has something interesting to say.
What: 5 minute stories on a theme every fourth Monday of the month
When: February 24, 7:30pm doors and open-mic sign up / 8pm stories
