Wednesday January 20th, Cameron and Rhube traveled to Featherston P.S. to present 2 Junior GRIS workshops and test out a new elementary workshop that is under development and evaluation. We both had a great time working with such a curious group of students and would like to thank the teachers and administration of the school for our continued working relationship. The afternoon workshops worked at deconstructing notions that students had about sexuality, specifically surrounding stereotypes/performance, and unpacking the difference between gender/sex. In the morning session, we had a blast trying out a new interactive activity for younger students that involves creating diverse families and presenting their family structure, orientation etc. A special shout-out goes to Mme. Annie for her enthusiasm and exceptionally open classroom.
