On Wednesday October 14th, Cameron and Margaux woke up before 8am and ventured out to A.Y. Jackson High School to deliver several Queer History workshops. This was Team Educations first history workshop of the year with the OCDSB and they were extremely pleased with the response from students, who overwhelmingly had little to no exposure with the material. LGBTQ Canadian history goes through state repression in the 20th century and the various activists and milestones that foreshadowed changes in legislation and society. The students were intrigued with the history of oppression that exists within Canadian history and were challenged to rethink their notions of the neo-liberal state. It was a great workshop to deliver and we are looking forward to coming back later in the year!
