Montréal 2017: The 3rd National LGBTQ+ Service Provider Summit

The Canadian Centre for Gender & Sexual Diversity would like to invite you to the 3rd National LGBTQ+ Service Provider Summit in Montrèal, QC on January 20-21, 2017 at The Plaza Centre – Montrèal located at 777 Blvd Robert Bourassa.

This years summit will feature presentations on topics such as: Transgender Inclusion, Intervention Methods, Gender Creativity in Children, Two-Spirit identities and the impact of colonization, Human Rights, BIPOC Panel, Fundraising, Creating Safe(r) Spaces, The Intersectionality of LGBTQ+ communities, Accessibility and Queerness, and many other LGBTQ+ inclusion topic in both French and English.

We at CCGSD know the importance of networking with other organizations working with LGBTQ+ individuals and families. One of the features of this years summit will be the breakout sessions where service providers such as yourself, will have the opportunity to break out by region (which includes urban and rural) and sector to create space to dialogue about services being delivered across the Nation.

These breakout sessions will also give us opportunity to discuss the gaps in service and funding. Our hope at CCGSD is that these break out sessions will help us as a collective identify next steps to help rectify the gaps we identify and work together to create change for LGBTQ+ service users across the Nation.

Our plan after the summit is complete, is to bring back all of the information we collect at the summit to start the formation of our National Service Provider Network. Our goal at CCGSD is to have individuals and organizations form what the network will do and/or provide.
