Sport Inclusion: Reviewing May

The month of May was a more relaxed month for the Sports Inclusion program, although it definitely did fly by.  We have been working on the final touches of our Sports Inclusion Booklet, that we will be sharing in the near future. We are super excited to finally be releasing this “feature” to the Sports World. We have dedicated a tremendous amount of time and effort towards creating the best possible Sports Inclusion Booklet, to help educate and spread awareness for the LGBTQ2S+ community in sports. We would like to thank our Sports Inclusion Coordinator, our co-op student, David, and our editing team for all their hard work.

Also in May, our Sports Inclusion Coordinator was lucky enough to attend and present at the Egale Identity Conference. This was a unique opportunity to meet such amazing and beautiful humans who dedicate so much time in in bringing together the perspectives on the state of inclusion for the LGBTQ2S+ community, and chart a path forward together. We are very grateful to have been included in this event and would like to thank the organizers for their efforts.

We were also lucky enough to meet so many people involved with the Canadian Olympic Committee, as well as other passionate activists and educators who work for Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity ( CAAWS).

Overall, we are very happy with our month of May and are working hard to make our way into tackling the summer months. If you are interested in booking a workshop with this program, please email our coordinator, Stephanie Sapienza, at .
