South Asian/Arab LGBTQ2S+ Forum

The Canadian Centre for Gender & Sexual Diversity, in partnership with ASAAP, will provide an LGBTQ2S+ Youth Forum to local, South Asian and Arab identified, high school students from Toronto. The forum will take place at the 519 Community Centre (519 Church Street) on May 16, 2018 from 9:00am-2:00pm. Stay tuned for the official date and upcoming details!

The purpose of this forum is to bring together South Asian and Arab LGBTQ2S+ youth to connect, share, and learn from others in their community. As the first forum of it’s kind for the CCGSD, we want youth to attend, participate, and give us feedback so that we can learn how to better support South Asian and Arab LGBTQ2S+ youth.

We understand the importance of providing knowledge, tools and skills to youth to navigate through their school experiences. Having access to workshops that provide education on inclusivity can help students normalize their feelings, identities and relationships. We will cover topics such as LGBTQ2S+ Terminology, Transgender Inclusivity, Intersectionality, LGBTQ2S+ History and other various topics that cover the intersection of identities in the LGBTQ2S+ community.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Jeremy Piamonte, Conferences Coordinator, by email at or by phone at (613) 400-1875.
