“His story was truly inspiring! What I found most incredible about Jeremy’s experience was how it mirrored my own. It is really hard for me to be myself in school, and to see that there are people working to make my schools safer gives me hope,” said Sarah from Orillia.
On September 28, 2015, our director spoke at the Simcoe Muskoka Youth Summit. The event brought youth together to learn about how they can make their lives better. In connecting youth with local service providers, presenting workshops on that trained them on life skills and inspiring them to make our community stronger–this youth led event championed by the Canadian Mental Health Association was a first for the region.
“It was truly an honour to keynote the Conference,” said Jeremy Dias, Director of The Centre. “It is through making individual connections with each other that we can build skills to better deal with difficult situations in our communities.”
