Ontario Votes 2011: Green Party of Ontario answers Jer's Vision survey

Hi Jer’s Vision;

Thank you for writing.

In terms of bullying, the Green Party recognizes that schools must foster a safe and caring atmosphere for students to achieve their potential. Equality is core to the Green Party’s values. Programs and initiatives must be in place to prevent any form of discrimination, prejudice, and intolerance.

Schools receiving public funding should not discriminate against anyone, and especially must ensure the safety of all students.  We support working with religious and community leaders, parents, teachers and students through student clubs and other community groups to stop bullying and discrimination and to ensure the safety of all students.

We are committed to upholding the Human Rights Code of Ontario, including in issues regarding sexual orientation.  We will promote citizen engagement and an open, transparent and accountable government. We will consult with community stakeholders to ensure that government services are delivered in a fair, equitable and transparent way.

You can find our full platform at www.itstimeforgreen.ca.  Also, I have copied Mark Daye, our Toronto Centre candidate on this email.  He would be happy to speak with with you should you have further questions.

Regards,
