Looking back it was a crazy Summer!

Looking back it has truly been an amazing summer. This year we:

  • Ran workshop programs for 12,000 youth in camps, youth groups and other summer programs/drop-ins
  • Participated in 5 pride festivals & parades (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver & Edmonton), marching with our partners at TD Canada Trust, the Ottawa Fire Service, the Ottawa Paramedics Service and the youth contingents
  • We ran professional development workshops focusing on anti-homophobia/transphobia with the Ottawa Fire Service, the Ontario Public Service Employees Union & the Vancouver Out Games Human Rights Conference
  • Held our first fundraiser at Pride Toronto with Weapon of the Revolution
  • Supported numberous events, including: Dyke Drama, Divergence Movie Night, camp training programs, and various pride events
  • Our director, Jeremy Dias was: interviewed by Lady Gaga, on the cover of Outlooks Magazine, & recieved: National Award (Durham Pride, 2011)
    Step Up, Speak Out Champion (Canadian Asociation for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Phsycial Activity, 2011); GLISA North America Human Rights Award (GLISA North America, 2011); Inductee (Queer Hall of Fame, 2011); Jose Julio Sarria Human Rights Award (Imperial Court, 2011); Order of the Golden Eagle (Imperial Court, 2011); & Order of the Maple Leaf (Imperial Court, 2011)
