Join the Ottawa Rainbow Outreach team!

Hey there folks,
Summer is upon us once again and that means hanging out at all kinds of amazing festivals, farmers markets and awesome community events. As a member of the queer community, I know far too well that issues of homophobia and transphobia continue to be pervasive and because of this, such places often fall short of embracing our diverse identities in their entirety. So I, and the team at Jer’s Vision, propose we stand up and do something about it!!
I am proud to introduce the new Rainbow Outreach Team. A group of enthusiastic and dedicated young queers excited to contribute to developing and strengthening a sense of community.

We plan to queer-ify all kinds of events and spaces this summer by making our presence known and engaging people in discussion about community that include queer identities and queer history. Our goal is to engage and educate in fun environments and in a fun way including fantastic outfits, trivia and prizes. We are also partnering with an amazing array of community organizations, from advocacy groups to service providers to queer positive local businesses.

The thing is, we can’t do this on our own. We need your help. If you’re interested in volunteering to be an advocate for the LGBTTQ+ community, like dressing up in fabulous outfits and engaging people in conversation, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!!

If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to get involved this summer come on out to Rainbow Outreach Committee volunteer orientation meeting on July 4th from 5-7pm. The meeting will be at Jer’s Vision is located at 440 Albert st. suite C304 (third floor). RSVP at:  If you would like to take part but cannot make it out to the meeting feel free to contact Hannah at
Thank you so much, and we hope to see you out there,
