On March 22nd the Jer’s Vision Team, Jeremy, Melanie, and Shannon, visited the students at Russel High School…and loved it! With the fresh country air came the fresh minds of students who were ready to engage in conversations about what queerphobia is and how they can work together to put an end to the discrimination in their school and community. The presenters recieved many insightful and thought provoking questions that prompted multiple constructive conversations about experiences of people within the queer community. When the school day was over, the presenters met with teachers for some good old-fashioned professional development. Teachers were very engaged and interested in how they can maintain their school’s positive atmosphere while constantly improving it. Thanks to everyone at Russel High School for their support!
