Jer's Vision at Ottawa Slut Walk 2013

In the spring of 2011 a police officer at giving a speech to university students in Toronto on sexual assault prevention gave them a contraversial piece of advice. He told them if women didn’t want to get raped they shouldn’t dress like sluts. This sparked a huge outrage, and led Toronto to establish the first ever Slut Walk. A march against blaming victim’s and the way they dress for sexual assaults.

This was Ottawa’s third annual Slut Walk and for the second year in a row, Jer’s Vision got to participate in this great event.

Many Jer’s Vision team members and volunteers marched and I even made a speech about the sexual consent and healthy relationship workshops we teach in high schools.

We all had a great time and did our part to fight agianst victim blaming and batteling rape culture.

Cheers!
