Daring to Stand Out against social cruelty at the Youth Leadership Conference in Kingston

Jer’s Vision was proud to support and sponsor the Leadership Conference that was held on February 28, 2013 from 8:30am to 2pm on the Kingston campus of the St. Lawrence College where students from the Child and Youth Worker program hosted over 350 youth and youth workers to engage in the topic of the amended education act Bill 13, bullying, and social cruelty through workshops and speakers.

Jeremy Dias did the morning keynote, followed by Vanessa Hamilton’s workshop on awareness of bullying behaviour for teachers. Jesse Miller ended the conference with a keynote on cyber bullying.

The graduating class of the Child and Youth Worker Program had this to say about Jer’s Vision’s involvement, specifically to Jeremy Dias:

“We appreciate everything you did for us and you are an inspiration to not only the students of Kingston but to all of us as child and youth worker students. When developing our conference we knew from the beginning that we wanted you to be a part of it and we are glad our vision could come to fruition. You’re an example fo the difference each and every one of us can make not only in the field of child and youth work, but also in the world.”
