If you are in Ottawa, join us as we participate in the World Hepatitis Day event, hosted by the Canadian Society for International Health (CSIH)! This event aims to raise awareness about hepatitis worldwide and will be taking place on July 28th, 2015 from 12:00pm-2:00pm right at City Hall (110 Laurier Ave. West)!
As with previous years, there will be an emphasis on prevention, treatment, and the resources available with regard to hepatitis. However, this year’s main theme is knowing your status. 1 in 5 Canadians living with hepatitis C don’t even know it, and the only way to find out is to get tested. This event will serve as a safe space for those who have questions, who are seeking help, and for the community to come together to show support for those currently living with the hepatitis. There will be speakers, panelists, poster displays, nearby rapid testing and vaccinations, as well as a community fair – we’ll be there!
It’s bound to be an amazing event! There will also be a free BBQ! Drop by! Say hi! We hope to see you there!
Not in Ottawa? Not a problem! There will be World Hepatitis Day events taking place all across Canada that you can get involved in! For more information, check out their site! http://whdcanada.org/events/
