Let’s Make C-75 Work Better

On March 29, 2018 the Minister of Justice introduced Bill C-75: An Act to amend the Criminal Code, the Youth Criminal Justice Act and other Acts and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

B-75 replaces Bill C-39: An Act to amend the Criminal Code (unconstitutional provisions) and to make consequential amendments to other Acts. Learn more about our action on C-39 here.

While we are happy to recognize a number of human rights victories including support for choice and the equalization of ages of consent, the CCGSD proposes that C-75 be amended to:

  • address sex work criminalization
  • protect intersex children
  • repeal the ‘bawdy house’ laws
  • define marginalized person

We encourage folks to reach out to their MPs and make them aware of these opportunities to improve the legislation and their importance. You can find your MP here.
