Normal Heart Description:
TotoToo Theatre is pleased to stage the Ottawa Premiere of The Normal Heart by Larry Kramer from March 1-10 at The Gladstone Theatre, 910 Gladstone Avenue.

Winner of the 2011 Emmy for Best Revival of a Play, The Normal Heart, which is largely autobiographical, is a searing drama about public and private indifference to the AIDS plague and one man’s lonely fight to awaken the world to the crisis. Produced to acclaim in New York, London and Los Angeles, The Normal Heart follows Ned Weeks, a gay activist enraged at the indifference of public officials and the gay community. While trying to save the world from itself, his personal world is shattered.

Co-directed by Jim McNabb and Shaun Toohey, the cast includes Shaun Toohey (CCC Best Actor Award 2015) in the role of Ned Weeks, and Barry Daley (CCC Best Actor Award 2016) in the role of Felix Turner.

Tickets for The Normal Heart are available online at http://www.thegladstone.ca/the-normal-heart or in person at The Gladstone Box Office between 3:30 and 8:00 PM Tuesday through Fridays or one hour before show time.

In conjunction with this production, TotoToo is installing The Normal Heart Memorial Wall in the lobby of The Gladstone for the full run of the play. We are inviting anyone who has lost a loved one to HIV and AIDS, and who wishes to do so, to submit a photo of their loved one to be included in The Normal Heart Memorial Wall. The intention of the Memorial wall is to remember our loved ones and to remind and educate our audiences of the local reality of HIV/AIDS. Details on submission requirements are available on our website at www.tototoo.ca/memorial-wall.html

Please note that the CCGSD team has not reviewed the play and we are unable to speak to its content, endorse or offer trigger warnings (sorry).
