GSA Leadership Forum 2020 Registration Now Open !

Hi folks!

I should start by introducing myself. My name is Leila, and I am the new National Forums Co-ordinator for the CCGSD! I am excited to get the fantastic opportunity to announce the opening of this year’s registration for the 2020 GSA Leadership Forum. This forum will be an excellent opportunity for 75 GSM youth from across the country to come to Ottawa and meet other young people doing great work in their communities.  This year we have had the privilege of travelling the country doing workshops and programming, and have met so many inspiring young people. Your highs, as well as your lows, have inspired us to dream big and imagine a world that is inclusive and validating of each of your individual experiences. As a community organizer myself, I am so looking forward to equipping you folks with the skills and resources to build the world that YOU want to see.

This year there will be a focus on community building, creating intersectional movements, and ways to integrate self-care into all of it. The oppressions we face often force us into this time consuming and emotionally trying work, and we are left to figure it all out along the way. As we are entering a new decade, this is an excellent opportunity to think of the world that you want to see. What are your goals? What do you need to accomplish them?  What are your fears and hesitations? We want to be the best resource for you, so email me at leadership@ccgsd-ccdgs.org and let me know what it is you need from this year’s GSA.

This will be a fun-filled and educational experience that you will not forget. In this work, it is so important to create connections and build relationships. I am so excited for you folks to get the chance to meet, challenge, and learn from each other. We are building a community! We are building a movement ! Together we are unstoppable!  So don’t forget to register. Spaces will go fast, and we can’t wait to meet you. If you have any questions or concerns along the way, please don’t hesitate to ask.
